Teacher Bios

Megan Teacher BiosMegan Meyers (School Owner): In high school Megan was a member of the national award-winning Napa High   Spiritleaders. Her team won varsity national titles in 2000 & 2001. In 2002, Megan had the honor of being crowned Miss Napa County and her dancing took her all the way to the state level of Miss America. Megan opened Expressions in 2002 while attending the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2004, Megan auditioned for the NFL cheerleading team The Oakland Raiderettes. During the 2005 & 2006 football seasons Megan was named “Rookie of the Year” and “Raiderette of the Year”. As Raiderette of the Year Megan was selected to represent the Raiders at the 2007 Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Megan continues to dance, and is currently training in International-Style Latin and Standard Ballroom styles.

Dawn1 Teacher BiosDawn Perrin (Pre-K, Ballet, Pointe): Dawn was born in Madrid, Spain and was raised in Lee, Massachusetts where she began studying ballet at the age of 7. She received her early training at The Cantarella School of Dance. Training some summers at Pennsylvania Ballet School, School of American Ballet, and The Joffrey Ballet School on scholarship. Ms. Perrin’s professional career began with American Ballet Theatre II. She then went on to dance with The Joffrey Ballet and The Houston Ballet. One of her performance highlights include being chosen to dance the role of the Sugarplum Fairy in the World Premiere of The Joffrey’s Nutcracker.

 

 

Cassie Teacher BiosCassie Geremia (Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary, Pre-K, Dance Teams): Cassie started dancing at the age of 6. She danced, taught, and choreographed in the Napa Valley until age 19. In 2003 she was accepted to Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. Cassie graduated in 2006 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. In addition to Expressions Cassie has also spent time teaching and choreographing at Napa Valley College, Solano College and Chico State University.

 

 

 

 

Mary Anne Teacher BiosMary Anne Schaffer (Jazz, Cheerleading): Mary Anne has been dancing for the past 16 years. She has been teaching dance since 2000, spending the past 7 years traveling around the country as a head instructor for the National Dance Alliance. She has also been the assistant coach for the Nationally Award winning Napa High School Spiritleaders since 2005. Mary Anne is also our resident fitness specialist, receiving her BS in Kinesiology with a concentration in Lifetime Fitness from Sonoma State University. Besides being an experienced dancer and dance teacher, Mary Anne is also an ACE certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Healthquest.

 

 

Mackenzie Teacher BiosMackenzie Caswell (Parent/Child, Pre-K, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tumbling): Mackenzie has trained in gymnastics for over 15 years, and her strong background in gymnastics led to a more recent career in dance. Mackenzie has performed in several dance shows for Napa Valley College serving as both a dancer and choreographer for the performances. Mackenzie is currently a senior at Sonoma State University and is majoring in Human Development and Early Childhood Education. Eventually, Mackenzie plans to teach dance at a junior college and also plans to open her own ’arts oriented’ preschool after she receives her Master’s Degree from Sonoma State University.

 

 

Chelsea Teacher BiosChelsea Perrin (Pre-K, Ballet, Jazz): Chelsea has 13 years of dance training specializing in ballet. Most recently Chelsea spent her teen years rigorously training daily as well as assistant teaching at Marin Dance Theatre in Marin. Chelsea has had the opportunity to study with many well known ballet teachers such as Erica Allen (Marin Dance Theatre), Joanna Berman (San Francisco Ballet), Wes Chapman (American Ballet Theatre), Lynn Cox (Atlanta Ballet) Cynthia Lucas (National Ballet of Canada), Tiit Helimets (San Francisco Ballet), Dennis Nahat (Artistic Director San Jose Ballet), Lawrence Pech (American Ballet Theatre), Dawn Perrin (The Joffrey Ballet), Raymond Perrin (American Ballet Theatre), Margaret Swarthout (The Royal Ballet), Sofiane Sylve (San Francisco Ballet) and Wendy Van Dyck(San Francisco Ballet). Chelsea is currently attending college at Napa Valley College and plans to transfer to a university in the future.

 

Jaymie Teacher BiosJaymie Azevedo (Cheerleading, Tumbling, Competition Cheer Teams): Jamie grew up in Napa and has been dancing since the age of 3. Jaymie grew up dancing locally including being on Expressions’ very first dance team when she was in high school. Jaymie has also danced at Napa Valley College. Jaymie began cheerleading for a local cheer program when she was fourteen. She also went on to coach cheerleading for a local youth cheer program as well as for a local high school. Jaymie has also taught tumbling and gymnastics for the past 5 years. Jaymie has spent the last year teaching cheer, dance and tumbling at Expressions. She’s also one of our head coaches for our competition cheer program.

 

 

Robin Teacher BiosRobin Daniels (Cheerleading, Tumbling, Competition Cheer Teams): Robin started dancing when she was 4 years old and as she grew up became involved in gymnastics and cheerleading as well. Robins cheerleading experienced includes cheering for a local Pop Warner program as a young girl, in junior high, high school as well as for two bay-area All Star Teams. Robin also trained as a gymnast and competed through Level 6. As a coach Robin as coached pop Warner teams in the past and has taught gymnastics to kids of all ages for the past 9 years. Robin also has her teacher’s assistant certificate and has worked with special needs children for Solano Couty Office of Education. Robin has spent the last year teaching cheer, dance and tumbling at Expressions. She’s also one of our head coaches for our competition cheer program.

 

Marci Teacher BiosMarci Sanchez (Tap): Marci Matsushita-Sanchez is a native of Napa Valley.  In addition to teaching tap at Expressions, she teaches ballet and jazz and provides choreography for musical productions at Napa Valley College.  Her dance studies began locally with Pam (Kraatz) Rogers, Janet Sassoon, and Deborah Palesch.  While attending UC Davis, she studied with Bobbie Wynn Bolden.She is also a certified “Natori” (Hanayagi Karumen) in classical Japanese dance under Hanayagi Juteika (Maryann Goodman) of Sonoma County.:

 

 

 

Christina Litle (Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary Competition Teams): Christina has been dancing since the age of 5 and has been competing in dance competitions since she was 14.In high school Christina was a varsity member of the nationally award-winning Napa High Spiritleaders. Christina began choreographing in high school as a member of the NHS Spiritleaders and continues to be invited back each year to produce exciting routines for their annual student dance performance. Christina has been teaching dance for over 7 years, including past competition teams at Expressions. Other dance-related talents of Christina include photography, make-up artist and music editor. Christina is a SUPER talented woman in many areas and we are so excited to have her talent, energy and expertise back at Expressions.

Matt Moon-Bailey (Karate/Taekwondo/Judo): Instructor Matt Moon-Bailey has over 20 years of martial art experience as a Martial Art Instructor and Tournament Competitor. Matt has earned Black Belts in Judo, Karate and Tae Kwon Do with additional training in Boxing, Kick Boxing and Jujitsu. Instructor Bailey has also taught specialty classes to Women’s Groups and Law Enforcement Agencies all over Northern California. As a tournament
competitor Matt has won tournaments in the Black Belt division in Judo, Karate and Tae Kwon Do. As an Instructor / Program Director for Martial Arts Programs he has seen students achieve success in and out of the dojo. Past students have won Local, Regional, National and International Tournaments. A couple of past students have been named Junior Olympic Elite Athletes. More importantly Matt has seen past students use what they have learned during martial arts training to become more successful in the classroom, professional and in their own personal lives. As a performer, Instructor Bailey used his martial art experience in Pro-Wrestling arenas playing the American Ninja (good guy) and the Super Ninja (bad guy). Professionally Matt is an award winning Youth Advocate and Program Director having directed programs serving youth struggling with issues such as gang involvement, alcohol and drug issues, teen parenting, employment and transitioning from incarceration. Matt has traveled all over California speaking at trainings, conferences and
ceremonies about at-risk youth issues.

Tracy Geraghty (Piano): Tracy has over 20 years experience teaching piano and voice. She received her B.A. in Music at Cornell College. She’s performed with orchestras, choirs, jazz bands, as a soloist, and has been a voice coach, accompanist, pianist, and assistant director of many musicals and operas including Candide and The Marriage of Figaro. She has also performed in many forums (solo, orchestral, choral, jazz-ing, and in musicals) in places like Disneyland, New York City, Chicago, Denver, 5 countries in Europe, as well as New Zealand and Australia.
